This subdivision does continually see turnover. The location is ideal for anyone working or doing residency at Shands or the University of Florida because the distance to and from these areas is quite short if you can travel in the off peak hours of the day and there is a lot of great shopping nearby.

Mentone is a well established neighborhood and the location is very desirable because it is so very close to UF and Shands. Yet it is far enough away from busy Butler Plaza to enjoy the peace and quiet of Gainesville. Many Resident Physicians gravitate to this southwest area, giving it an extra little boost of sales activity each year in the spring.
